Terri's Self Discovery Page

Hi, my name is Theresa Sawtelle. My nickname is Tukwut. It is pronounced tewk - wu. The word is from the Lusardi Indian Tribe and means cougar. I am 31 years old and a graduate of California State University, San Marcos. I graduated winter of 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in High Technology Management in Business Administration. I currently work for SBC as a Problem Manager with the Availability Team. I love this job and hope to be there for a long time to come.

I spend my spare time with my husband Robert, (See our wedding album here. and my friends, Mark, Anna, Andy, Karen, and my sister, Cheri. When I get a chance, between doing every thing else, I try to play with my Rottweiler puppy, Zeta. And our cat A.P. Pishe. Rob and I have a new addition to the family on it's way. I have a special link to it here

I am also an adult adoptee, who just a few years ago started searching for my Birth Mother. On October 5, 1996, I woke to a pleasant, long awaited, essentially my entire life, phone call from my birth mother, Debbie. It was exciting, scary, and relieving to talk to her for the first time.I also, at that time, found out that I have a beautiful halfsister, Heather, and a handsome halfbrother, Kenny. They are absolutely wonderful and caring. I am also pleased to say that I have two nephews, Samson and Suede. I had the privledge of meeting all of them plus my birth grandmother, an absolutely beautiful woman, and Debbie's husband of 26 years, Norman, on November 8, 1996. It was amazing to me to be looking at someone that looked so similar to me for the first time. It was great. If you are an adult adoptee and have been considering searching I highly recommend joining the Adoptees Internet Mailing List. They have many suggestions and tips to help you with your search. Another fantastic place to go is Bastard Nation. This is a group of adoptees and friends of adoptees that are trying to gain equal rights for adoptees. Please go to their website, or if you chat, visit them on XWorld at #BNation. The people there are great, some of them include: Damzy, HalfHeart, Cellrack, and Rhysome, just to name a few. Go, have fun, they are friendly people.

My sister Heather had her triplets on May 2, 2000. They are absolutely adorable and you can see them here.

If you are interested in seeing pictures from my reunion, look on the other side of the line below. I believe that you will see who I resemble. If you are interested in my story, please check it out. Also, Debbie sent me a little story-poemof how she felt when I was adopted.

I also want to mention how wonderful my family is. I could not have been raised, loved, and cared for by a greater family then the one that raised me. My mom is the head counselor at a high school and my dad is a retired university professor. He was forced into retirement years ago because of an illness, called Multiple Sclerosis. My sister is a ROP teacher at a high school. My brother-in-law works for a contracting company that contracts with the city working on landscaping. They are all fantastic people. I will be adding pictures of them soon.

Also, if you are into chatting, a fun place to go is Undernet and visit #Coffeetable. There are so many great people there, I could not possibly name them all. They do, however, have a webpage. So, go and visit it and have fun.
